The SADF main battle tank was the "Olifant". Based on the British "Centurion", it carried a 105 mm gun, had improved mobility in addition to other modifications. While able to match any Soviet equivalent deployed in Sub-Saharan Africa at the time, it remained an improvisation. Also featured in this video is the G 6 155 mm self-propelled howitzer. While superior to anything that the Angolan side could put in the field, there were rather few actually deployed at the time. The backbone of the artillery during operations in Angola therefore continued to be the G 5.
The last part of the video features mechanised infantry.
